This is my double wall project. I threw this on the wheel.
I glazed this project with mystery blue. A new skill that I used while making this project is pulling 2 walls and then closing the inside wall to make it hollow. An art element that I used is shape. This double wall has a very distinct shape and is very thick around the edge. An design element that I used is balance. The project is very symmetrical, perfectly round, and sits perfect on the bottom rim. I actually do not really like this particular project because I made the actual bowl part a little small which makes the probability of using it lesser. This is my lidded project that I threw on the wheel. When this project came out of the bisque, I stained it with black stain and used a paint brush to stain the flowery design on the sides and on the top of the lid. A new skill that I used while making this project is using the calipers. The art element that I used while making this project is color. The stain is only one specific color and really contrasts with clear coat background so it is very easy to see. The design element that I used is pattern. I used the same flower design on both sides of the lidded project and used the same leaf/vine design all the way around the entire top of the lid.
This is my choice project that I threw on the wheel. I made a cylinder and then altered the top to make it a pitcher kind of piece. Originally, it was supposed to be a pitcher for liquids but once it was fired it became to small. It could be used as a vase. The design element that I used is line. All along the top rim of the project there are lines going in the same direction. Which leads to my design element of pattern. The lines form a pattern around the top.
This is my set of 3 project. I threw all of these on the wheel in the same day. All 3 of the bowls fit within each other, going from largest to smallest. A new skill that I used while making this project is sizing. I purposely made the bowls fit in each other to become a better set of 3. An art element that I used is shape. All 3 of the bowls have the same basic shape. A design element that I used is pattern. On the outside of the bowls, they all have the same pattern and they all flow together really well.
This is my wheel altered project. It is tall with a swiveled top/edge. It is stained with green and brownish stain with a clear glaze over it. One new skill that I used while making this project is altering the project after I throw it on the wheel. This is the first time I have ever done an altered project so it is the first time I have bent the top edges into a symmetrical design. When making this project, I used the art element color. The stain on this project is in colors that really flow together nicely. A design element that I used is pattern. There is pattern in this project because the same "half circle" design is repeated multiple times.
