This is my second finished bowl. It is a pretty good sized snack bowl. It has a stained flower in the inside of the bowl that goes up towards the edge. It also has little dots on the flower, the inside rim/edge of the bowl, and on the outside. A new skill that I used while creating this bowl was staining. This is the first time I have stained a project. One art element that I used is space. I put the dots on the rim because I felt that there was an empty space there and needed something. The design element I used is rhythm. This bowl shows rhythm because it looks as though the the flower petals and all of the dots are rising towards the top of the bowl all together...rhythmically :)
This is my tall project that I made on the wheel. It has a blueish-green color with rusty drip stripes. It also has a VERY GOOD foot ring. A skill that I used on this project was trimming the top of it while it was on the wheel to make the edge smoother and even. An art element that this project has is line. When I glazed this project I made lines going from the top towards the bottom in a darker glaze. The design element I used was unity and harmony. Even though the lines are a different color than the main glaze, they are still both dark, forest-like colors that go together smoothly.
This is my first bowl that I threw on the wheel. It is a good-sized cereal or snack bowl. Its shape is round at the top but not cylindrical all the way down because it has the bowl shape. When I glazed this bowl I used the 'Dream Green' glaze. There is no foot ring on this bowl because the bottom was too thin to foot. A somewhat new skill that I used on this bowl was pulling the wall. I consider it a new skill because I did it in a different way than usual. I used the sponge on the outside instead of my finger and I found it to be way easier and more efficient. A design element that I used is proportion because the bowl is the perfect size and is not too big and not too small. An art element I used for this project is color and texture. The color is simply just one color. The texture on the outside is wavy because of when I pulled the wall. The idea/feeling/mood for this project would be nature because of the color. It is a dark forest-like green that reminds me of trees and nature.
